The Festival at Sandpoint Instrumental Scholarship

This is awarded to top Bonner County student instrumentalist who is planning to pursue a future in music.

Amount of Scholarship: $2,500
funds may be used for any music related expenses including lessons, tuition, and instrument upgrade.

Eligibility: Open to all Bonner County high school students, with priority given to graduating seniors who are continuing their studies in music.

Deadline: Written Applications are due postmarked by Tuesday, April 10th

Live Auditions: Applicants will be contacted to schedule a live audition to take place during the month of May.  The winner will perform a solo prior to The Festival's Grand Finale Concert on Sunday, August 12, 2018.

Angels over Sandpoint Writing Scholarship

Amount of Scholarship: $1,000
You may use funds for any writing workshops, tutoring/tuition

Eligibility: Open to all Bonner County high school students, including private and home school.

Deadline for Application: Written applications are to be returned to the SHS Counseling Center by April 10th, 2018. by 9:00 a.m.

Interview/Portfolio Presentation: We will contact all applicants to schedule an interview to take place at The Heartwood Center in late April.

Award Presentation: The winner will be notified by May 18th and will be presented with their scholarship check at The Festival at Sandpoint’s Family Concert.

Criteria:

1. Written Application:

  • Submit written application in type written form.
  • You may reproduce the application on your computer. 

2. Attachments: In order to be considered you must include:

  • Copy of your Transcripts
  • Two letters of Recommendation (one MUST be from an Art teacher). Please, no letters from family members.

3. 3 Samples of your visual art skills: 

  • These pieces can be in any medium.
  • The samples can be sculptures, paintings, woven, etc.

Funds may be used for any music related expenses, I.e., lessons, tuition, instrument upgrade, etc.

Eligibility: Open to all Bonner County high school seniors

Deadline for Application:  Written applications are due postmarked by Tuesday, April 10th to: Festival at Sandpoint PO Box 695, Sandpoint ID 83864 or hand delivered (by same date) to The Festival at Sandpoint Office, 525 Pine St. in Sandpoint

A dedicated scholarship fund has been established by the Sandpoint Book Babes through The Festival at Sandpoint to memorialize Charley Packard and perpetuate his lifelong mentorship of young singer-songwriters.

Goal: This Scholarship of at least $1,000 will be awarded annually to a local high school student who will also have the opportunity to perform an original song at The Festival at Sandpoint each summer.
